Caitlin Chin

Caitlin Chin is a fellow in the Strategic Technologies Program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS). Chin previously worked as a research analyst at the Brookings Institution. Her research areas focus on technology, cybersecurity, surveillance and privacy. At Brookings, Chin co-authored many research reports, such as “Police surveillance and facial recognition: Why data privacy is imperative for communities of color”, “How AI bots and voice assistants reinforce gender bias”, "Bridging the gaps: A path forward to federal privacy legislation". In addition, she has published numerous reports, commentaries and articles on public policy issues.
