Murat Karagöz

Murat Karagöz was born on August 14, 1967 in Istanbul. He completed his high school at Istanbul Erkek High School in 1985 and graduated from Istanbul University, Faculty of Economics, Department of International Relations in 1989. He holds a master's degree in Political Science from The City University of New York - The Graduate Center. He started his career in 1989 as a career diplomat at the Department of Eastern Europe and Asia and Bilateral Political Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He was Deputy General Manager for the Balkans and Central Europe in 2009-2013. He served as the Ambassador to Ulaanbaatar from November 15, 2013 to November 1, 2016. He was the Ambassador to Amman from November 15, 2016 to December 16, 2019. He currently serves as the Director General of Information at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
